Hat in action!

This hat got a little funky as I mentioned earlier, but it still fits ok so Finn is rocking it! And, sort of like in that last post, Finn's not super pumped about panda-ing for me and showing sweet, natural smile right now. It's either a really huge fakey grin accompanied with a roar or some other flippant gesture/sound, or I just have to take a picture of from the back. Here is a rare, somewhat genuine smile for the camera + one that shows what most of the pics from this real looked like. The hat fabric and the bandana are all from ClothWORKs and are designed by this awesome gal, Alyssa Thomas.

Project #1 (No, this is not Finn! He's not that big yet!)

I'm linin' 'em up! I've got so many things I want to do after I am done working, but there's no rule that I have start with the first thing on my list! Instead, I'm gonna start with this new, fresh one that Annie sent me. Simple pants for Finn. I'll report back in a few weeks.

Oh man does Finn like to wiggle. And he's getting more coordinated every day. His Auntie Alice has been in town and as we were riding Link downtown, Finn was showing off with some gymnastic style feats if strength.

It's like having a little wooden quilt prototype set; Reversible, two-color wool placemats and susie-style napkins for Annie and Kevin; Finn is starting to show some very advanced engineering tendencies, let's get him tested right away!!; Post-swim recovery phase at the YMCA.

I guess if your pea coat is fleece instead of wool, it's the perfect cool weather work-out wear. Breathable, washable, stylish. Finn is working on some resistance training here, bulking up for his beach debut in Kona next week.

Lipstick on a pig!

My old race bike has gotten a new life!! My buddy Reid traded me labor
and parts for some old campy stuff that was in nice shape and here I
am. Piggy rides again! I never dreamt of this vintage-look beauty and
I feel so stylish riding it. And, the latest addition to this is my
birthday present from Tyler-- that sweet front rack. It has certainly
changed my balance so I am getting used to front weight but boy am I
happy to not carry a bag! Sweaty back be gone with the wind.
And thanks to the lady at the light rail station for snapping this
awesome birthday photo! What a day!

Future gymnast?

Oh boy. Finn  is so cute and strong. When we go to the playground, he tears around barking out orders and exclaiming-- WOW!  What dis?  OOOH! This outfit was cracking me up all day, a nice mix of Russian gymnast and seafaring deckhand.  I love the way he is leaning on that bar, so sovereign and content. 

Rascal

What a rascal pants. The sewing machine is irresistible to Finn. I caught him red handed the other day fiddling around with some little piece, I think he's gonna need his own.

what's better? a smoothie or mama's camera?

Well, the evidence is right before you that despite a delicious berry smoothie that i left Finn actually drink himself with his own two hands (and by that I mean, he not only held his own glass but put his hands inside the glass along with a bunch of cheerios), an iPhone is more interesting that food! This slightly cruel series depicts, through Finn's facial gestures, the joy of the smoothie, then the rapid decline in Finn's mood as I took his picture. The more I snapped, the madder he got and wanted my camera!! I guess I'll have to get more sly with my device.

And, by the way, this weekend there will be a flurry of posts. Tyler is out of town (a tear falls) and so I will finally be posting about tons of things I have let go to the wayside. For one, I am getting some serious haul out of the vegetable garden now so I really want to show it off!!
